Drill and discipline is one of the core values of the Air Cadet program, and 8 Globemaster does not slack off in this area – all cadets learn the importance of drill and are taught how to do it well, instilling discipline in them and teaching them the importance of stability in life. Sgt Liu, A. is one such cadet who values the teachings drill has taught her.
“Drill is important to the cadet program in many ways – in one specific way, it has helped me develop an understanding of the importance of working together in a group. Even if one person messes up in a drill sequence, it ruins the cohesion of the look of a flight. I can easily apply this to my own life to teach myself the importance of discipline and not giving up as I do not want to be the person to let my entire flight down.”
